Parnes HaYom:

Honour the memory of a departed loved one or commemorate any special family event by sponsoring a day of learning at the Kollel.

"Zevelun will rejoice in their journeys and Issacher will rejoice in their tents." (Deuteronomy 33.18) Torah study has always been viewed as the "Life and spirit of the Jewish people." The historic partnership forged between Issacher and Zevelun has served as the precedent for the support of Torah study--thus collectively sharing in its benefits and rewards.

For thousands of years, the Jewish community has treasured its Torah scholars, and has viewed support for scholarship as a true partnership between those who learn and those who help support them. And, traditionally, the sponsor shares equally with the scholar in the heavenly rewards earned by Torah study.

"Parnes HaYom" literally mean "sponsor for a day," and the Parnes HaYom program at the Kollel of Ottawa provides an easy opportunity for members of the community to sponsor a full day of Torah study at the Kollel by assuming the expenses for that day.

Honour the memory of a departed loved one by sponsoring the Kollel program on the date of the Yahrzeit. Celebrate an anniversary, a birthday, a wedding or bar mitzvah, or demonstrate your gratitude to HaShem for a refuah sheleimah by becoming a Parnes HaYom. Honour a friend or community leader by sponsoring a day of learning on his or her behalf.

An attractive plaque, located prominently near the entrance of the Kollel, will display the name of the Parnes HaYom, the chosen date, and the nature of the occasion.

For more information, or to reserve specific date(s), contact the Kollel of Ottawa office at 613-729-4368.
